Enigma's debut performance in India took place in Bengaluru. Despite the rain and mud, fans of the band remained devoted to enjoying the German group's music. Following their show at Jayamahal Palace, Bangalore Times caught up with them for a brief interview. Here is an excerpt:
During the conversation, Andru Donalds, the vocalist, talked about the similarities he observed between the Indian and Jamaican crowds. Reflecting on their first visit to India, Donalds noted the familiar vibe shared by the audience here and in his homeland of Jamaica. "This is our first time performing here, but I sense a lot of similarities with our audience in Jamaica. When performing live, it's essential to connect with the crowd. Their response indicates how well the show is going. Despite the rain, I was pleasantly surprised by the audience's dedication. I thought they might leave, but they stayed on, braving the weather with their umbrellas. It was truly heartening," he remarked.
Fox Lima, another vocalist of Enigma, also expressed her delight at the audience's reception, mentioning how they knew the songs and even sang along. "The crowd's interaction was very engaging, and I was pleasantly surprised by their familiarity with our songs. It was a wonderful experience," she shared. Lima, who hails from Latvia, also mentioned feeling a connection with the Indian language, which helped her bond with the audience.
